A Brighter Future: AIKO’s N-Type ABC Modules Fuel Dierre’s Green Energy Transition

October 19th, 2024

Dierre SpA, a renowned Italian manufacturer of high-quality doors, recently took a significant step toward sustainability by installing AIKO’s advanced N-Type ABC photovoltaic (PV) modules. The project, located in Asti, Italy, was implemented by OGT Solar and installed by Photovoltaic Systems S.r.l. This initiative aligns with Dierre’s goal of reducing its carbon footprint and incorporating renewable energy into its operations.

The 500kWp PV system on Dierre’s rooftop features AIKO’s Neostar 450Wp modules, delivering exceptional power efficiency and visual appeal.

Performance and Aesthetic Excellence

Dierre’s Energy Manager, Salvatore Lombardo, highlighted the key reasons for selecting AIKO’s modules, driven by a need for higher energy output and aesthetic alignment with their brand. As Lombardo noted: „We chose AIKO for its performance—more power installed in the same space and more energy produced—and for its aesthetics, which reflects the manufacAstig quality. Just as our doors are functional elements of a home, the photovoltaic system supports the production of Dierre’s products.”

Pierluigi Terzuolo, BU Manager at OGT Solar, emphasized: „AIKO was the ideal product for this project—high performance and aesthetically aligned with the end customer’s values. After working on the simulations with PVsyst, both the installer and Dierre strongly preferred AIKO. The modules’ quality and appearance impressed Dierre when they visited our showroom.”

Key Project Benefits and Performance Metrics

The installation provided several significant benefits:

  • 5% more power installed in the same space compared to competing technologies.
  • 7.2% more energy generated in the first year, with 8.8% more energy projected over 30 years.
  • 7% faster payback period, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

According to Elio Piffer, CEO of Photovoltaic Systems: „The performance of the system installed at Dierre is excellent and aligns perfectly with the simulations. We achieved 5% more power in the same space and a 7% better break-even point, thanks to the module’s efficiency, superior temperature coefficient, and lower power degradation. This convinced me to use AIKO for all future projects.”

Additionally, 100% of the energy generated is utilized for self-consumption, reinforcing Dierre’s commitment to sustainable practices.

Reliability and Durability for Long-Term Performance

AIKO’s N-Type ABC modules are designed to withstand various environmental challenges, providing long-term reliability. These modules come with a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty, offering superior protection compared to other products, such as TOPCon modules, which offer only a 15-year product warranty.

The system installed at Dierre also benefits from AIKO’s certification for hail resistance up to 50mm, a critical feature given the growing concern over extreme weather events due to climate change. Although severe hail events are currently rare in North-West Italy, the durability of AIKO’s monoglass modules ensures the system is prepared for future climate risks.

Future Expansion Plans and Client Endorsement

Looking forward, Dierre is considering expanding their solar capacity with a ground-mounted system near their facility. Salvatore Lombardo strongly supports AIKO and Photovoltaic Systems for future industry projects, stating: „We trust AIKO’s photovoltaic modules and the expertise of Photovoltaic Systems to deliver a system that operates at its full potential.”

Driving a Greener Future

Through the adoption of AIKO’s N-Type ABC modules, Dierre has successfully integrated renewable energy into their operations. AIKO’s high-efficiency solar solutions not only provided greater energy output but also complemented Dierre’s high standards for design and quality. By embracing clean energy, Dierre is setting an example for businesses looking to balance performance with sustainability in today’s evolving industrial landscape.
