AIKO Signs Landmark Utility Agreements at Intersolar Europe 2025, Driving Global Momentum for N-Type BC Modules
May 16th, 2025
AIKO, a global leader and the inventor of high-efficiency BC (Back Contact) technology, announced multiple utility-scale agreements signed at Intersolar Europe 2025 with partners across Europe and beyond. These new collaborations underscore AIKO’s accelerating growth in the global utility segment and highlight the increasing market demand for advanced BC technology.
Europe’s Largest BC Project: Green Line Energy Commits to 340MW with AIKO
Greek renewable energy company Green Line Energy S.A. has signed a 340MW agreement for AIKO’s high-efficiency BC modules, marking the largest known utility-scale project in Europe to adopt BC technology to date. Green Line Energy is affiliated with Agrotech S.A., Greece’s largest distributor of agricultural machinery, and is expanding into clean energy as part of its long-term decarbonization strategy.
“We selected AIKO for their proven module performance and advanced BC technology, which aligns with our ambition to lead large-scale solar development in Southeast Europe. This project is a milestone not only for us, but for the broader industry adoption of back-contact innovation,”
said Maria Mitsiolidou, CEO, Green Line Energy S.A.

CrossBoundary Energy Selects AIKO for Africa’s Largest BC Solar Project
AIKO will supply 225MW of Stellar series modules to CrossBoundary Energy for the Kamoa Project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, supporting renewable power generation for one of Africa’s largest copper operations. This solar project is the first of its kind in Africa, providing a 30MW dispatchable renewable baseload energy supply to the mine. It is expected to offset diesel generator use and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 78,750 tonnes annually. This marks the largest deployment of BC technology on the continent to date, further proving its suitability for high-performance, off-grid applications in industrial and mining sectors.
