Boosting Commercial Success: Greenman Energy Expands Partnership with AIKO’s N-Type ABC Modules

Düsseldorf, Germany, and Hamburg, Germany, September 30, 2024 – AIKO, a leading solar manufacturer and BloombergNEF Tier 1 company, and Greenman Energy, a key player in sustainable energy solutions, are pleased to announce the expansion of their partnership. Building on previous successful collaborations, Greenman Energy has made a strategic decision to acquire an additional 3MW of AIKO’s high-efficiency N-Type ABC modules. This move underscores AIKO’s technological leadership and Greenman Energy’s commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions for commercial applications.
Maximizing Efficiency in Commercial Applications
The Biesdorf Centre project in Berlin, a major shopping destination, represents one of their significant projects together, where 1.5MW of AIKO’s N-Type ABC modules were deployed. The project demonstrated how AIKO’s technology allows for maximum energy generation in limited rooftop space, providing greater energy capacity compared to traditional technologies.
In the same rooftop space, Greenman Energy was able to install 1.5MW of AIKO’s N-Type ABC modules (465W), compared to only 1.4MW with TOPCon modules (440W). This highlights the superior energy density of AIKO’s technology, allowing for higher capacity in space-constrained commercial and industrial (C&I) applications.
With an expected 30-year life-cycle energy production of 19,658 MWh, AIKO’s modules offer superior performance and reliability, making them the optimal choice for C&I applications. In comparison, AIKO’s N-Type ABC modules reduce Balance of System (BOS) costs by 4.9% and offer a more competitive Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) of 0.027 €/kWh, compared to 0.028 €/kWh for TOPCon modules.
Greenman Energy, in collaboration with its sister company Greenman OPEN, the owner of the Biesdorf Centre and over 90 grocery-retail properties in Germany, integrates sustainable practices and technologies across these assets. Delivering Long-Term Performance and Reliability
AIKO’s N-Type ABC modules are specifically engineered for durability and optimal performance in commercial and industrial applications. The Biesdorf Centre project took advantage of the modules’ microcrack resistance and high-temperature resistance, ensuring reliability and longevity. To account for the rooftop’s heating pumps and other equipment, the installation was carefully designed to reserve enough space for maintenance, avoiding shading issues. This helped to ensure maximum energy output and system efficiency.
Their advanced technology ensures lower degradation, reduced Operation & Maintenance (O&M) costs, and superior safety, making them ideal for C&I rooftop installations.
