
Helping Schools Do More with Smart Solar
To support the growing energy needs of the Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre, a 96.82 kW rooftop solar system was installed using AIKO 470W modules. Designed by Solenergy Group, the system not only offsets the centre’s full operational load but also supports the recent upgrade to air-conditioning across the site—helping improve comfort, heat resilience, and learning outcomes in line with the State Government’s commitment to future-ready schools.

Project challenge
As a public education facility, the project required a solar solution that delivered maximum energy and long-term savings from a limited budget. The system needed to be cost-optimised, with high efficiency and minimal maintenance. The site also experiences significant shading from tree cover and seasonal leaf fall, making strong shade-handling performance critical to maintaining energy reliability and reducing system losses.



Solution
The AIKO system using 220 AIKO 470W Neostar modules delivered 6.82% more power, 4.65% higher energy density, and excellent shade-tolerant performance—ensuring stable output throughout the year. Over 30 years, the total gain reaches 417,900 kWh in extra generation, A$66,795 in lifetime savings, and 351 tonnes in added carbon reduction. This high-performing system enabled the school to meet its upgraded power needs without compromising space or budget.
